Yummy Chocolate Gravy & Biscuits

1/4 cup cocoa
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3/4 cup white sugar
2 cups milk
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened
2 teaspoons real vanilla

Whisk the cocoa, flour, and sugar together in a bowl until there are no lumps. Pour the milk into the mixture and whisk until well incorporated.
Transfer the mixture to a saucepan and cook over medium heat, whisking continuously, until its consistency is similar to gravy, 7 to 10 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir the butter and vanilla into the mixture until the butter is melted.

2 cups baking mix (I used Bisquick)
½ cup sour cream (I used light)
½ cup 7-Up or other lemon lime soda
3 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted

(note if you want to double this recipie I recommend making two separate batches as you don’t want to overwork the dough!)

1.In a bowl, combine the baking mix and sour cream. Add the 7-Up and combine. The dough will be very tender.
2.Sprinkle some additional baking mix on your working surface and shape dough into a 9 inch square.
3.Cut dough into 9 squares. Use a pizza cutter to do this.
4.Pour 2 of the Tbsp of melted butter into a 9 inch square baking dish. Rotate the dish so butter coats the bottom of the pan.
5.Bake at 450 degrees for 10-15 minutes until golden. Brush tops of biscuits with remaining melted butter. Serves 9

split biscuits and ladle chocolate gravy over the biscuits serve warm (a dollop of vanilla ice cream tops this off !
